Drake t-shirts

As you all may now know, me and two other friends own a small, boutique in Derby. Well recently we have had Vega, an independent T-shirt print company, in store promoting there new Drake T-shirts. The T-shirts are made from 100% organic cotton and have the singers face printed on the bottom of the garment. They are worth a trip to the boutique on Green lane.

We were all very excited at ElizaLeren so we decided to put on a DIY photoshoot to show off the talent. I personally think its a great photo shoot. But don't take my word for it. Pop down or check out our Facebook page. ElizaLeren.

Hairy situation.

Watch "Dress Film_1.mov" on YouTube

I created a dress out of hair, which was inspired by an equestrian theme.

It took me 4 days to sew all the hair into the net at the bottom which became the skirt but once I had completed it I was so happy.

I used the saddle shape to inspire my bra style top. I went for white, blue and black, which represented 3 of the olympic colours as equestrian is an olympic sport.

In this video I have asked a dancer to show sadness and weakness through her dance, which illustrates the struggle of the journey which comes with the sport. Hope you enjoy.

ElizaLeren

Me and 2 close friends have decided to set sail in the fashion industry. We are have decided to open a small boutique in Derby, which will be located on Green Lane. The small boutique will home the work of creative people, we plan to become a creative hub, a place for all sorts of people.

The story of ElizaLeren...

When you have a dream you should turn it into a reality. You should do it no matter how crazy it may be. we all want to be something when we grow up, but how many people actually became those people? When we grow up we start becoming more realistic and sensible, we start caring and forget our dreams of becoming astronauts or lion tamers. We discover there are limits due to money or skill......but why not just ignore all the "rules" and just make a go of it. Just do it, if 3 students could turn there dream into a reality you can.

Why reach for the stars when there are footprints on the moon?

1950's chic

I have always enjoyed vintage prints, jewellery and clothes. To be honest I like to change my style every week. I love shorts and skirts...No trousers and No joggers, and I rarely wear jeans, but I do live in shorts, dresses and skirts no matter what era or trend I'm currently playing with. I'm currently going through a "time warp" so I'm experimenting with clothes from different years.

I am currently making a lot of Poodle skirts from the 50's. The skirts include a full circle of material and come just below the knee.

Easy Reading

More charity shop finds, I found this cool little book which has loads of different things for people with sewing machine to do...so basically another book for me to add to my large collection of books which make my house-mates cry. I love books and love to collect and read all sorts of books.

I found this cool little make and do book for 49p "bargain" a couple days ago and haven't had time to make any thing yet, but when I do I will be posting.

Chuffed Charity Clothes

I happened to stumble into a small charity shop in Derby and I found the "Kitchiest" jumper ever. Its a size 14, 100% cotton, rose printed jumper with inset pockets and elasticated cuffs.

I have always been inspired by baggy T-shirts and jumpers so when I saw this vintage print on an over sized jumper, my eyes grew big and my heart melted, I must have it I heard my self say....at only £3.00 I thought...."great, Fern Cotton will be jealous".

Miss Cotton has been sighted on various occasions wearing "over-sized" jumpers and concert T-shirts. Her style has always inspired me, She has a music festival inspired look to the outfits she throws together, with boots and socks she looks ready to rock out...after all she is a radio personality.

I threw on some boots, socks, geek glasses and worn denim style shorts, followed by the jumper and I was ready for the day ahead.
